The best of Madeira gathered in a party at the anual prizegiving ceremony hosted by BestGuide.
In the past day of 29th October, Bestguide Portugal, the editor since 1997 of a Madeira anual Guide, summoned the best of this island to the awards ceremony distinguishing the “best of 2015”. Under the motto “the best of Madeira will be present in Funchal”, the event took place in the recently opened Armazém do Mercado, the perfect stage for the many great moments of this celebration: the attribution of the anual prize “Best of Madeira Winner” to the best of the industry (in the categories Eating, Sleep, Visit, Activities, Shopping and Nightlife) and the launch of the project in its various formats – anual printed guide, mobile app and the website bestguide.pt, aggregator of the guide and the digital magazine, of a social network about travels, leisure and culture, myguide.pt , and a booking website.
This very crowded party counted with the presence of the trade partners, distinguished guests and the official organs of the government and tourism.
The Prize: Best of Madeira Winner
Besides ensuring a presence in the anual printed publication “Best of Madeira”, the best of the year were distinguished in the event with Certificates of Excellence and Quality Emblems, that they can display on their venues, in order to identify themselves as a “Best of” Madeira awardee.

Best of Madeira, a guide made by the consumers’ taste
The shortlist is the result of a weighted average between the consumers’ opinion (interviews to local personalities, community suggestions on MyGuide and the main tourism social networks) and the votes of the jury.

Many of these voices, anonymous and otherwise, joined in a promotional vídeo about BestGuide, that was unveiled firshtand in the launching event.
The event took place on Armazém do Mercado and counted with the support of IVBAM (the Institute for Wine, Embroidery and Crafts of Madeira) and Blandy’s Wine Lodge.
