30 luxury stores in Lisbon: to live is to go shopping

Shopping in Lisbon is about discovering what is beyond the traditional stores and all-that-jazz circuit of mass tourism. Avenida da Liberdade and Rua Castilho are two good examples. The Avenida, some call it the portuguese Champs Elysées. A square meter is expensive, yes indeed, but all the hot first class brands are represented (Prada, Armani, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc.). What the luxury traveler is used to? He can find it in Lisbon, for Milan, Paris or New York won’t get out of the duel laughing. It can also be a unique experience: portuguese brands are getting international recognition, they are modern and creative heading to the fulfillment of the old portuguese saying: ‘what is national is good’.

The service is personalized, the stores have impeccable, sometimes stunning décors, all a piece of paradise to buy clothes, accessories (the portuguese jewelry stores are not to be missed) and antiques, in buildings adorned with modernity, the sober or the daring one. Lisbon is known in tour guides as one of the cheapest major cities in the world, but that doesn’t mean that the luxury of other places has no home here, in the right quantity and superior quality.

Luxury shopping in Lisbon is good for the body. And the soul doesn’t come out lamenting.
