The Art of Travel

TiagoSalazar

Anyone who travels and then finds himself trying to tell, always weighs up the questions:

  • To tell or not to tell, and what parts to omit in order to appreciate later with those who’ll want-deserve it? That is to say, if this a wonderful destination, because it is sheltered from the greedy craziness, isn’t there a risk of ceasing to be so, if the advertising and the neons are too bright?
  • With stomach-soul full, isn’t it the time to abandon the banknotes servant life and join with full-force the barefooted good-living misanthropy and relocate, for example, in a beach in Goa, north of the State and still unbaptized, the size of a land parcel in Caparica?
  • Keep the stoicism of a kind bon vivant and write (with kindness) about the virtues of travel, without spoiling the places where we travel by?

These are the questions that should occupy us as writers and travellers and citizens of an increasingly pillaged world.
