Luiz Caracol, Musician

Alfama, Graça, Bairro Alto, Castelo and Mouraria neighborhoods are the ones that best show the most genuine side of the city

Born into a cultural mix made up of people from Africa, Brazil and Portugal, the musician, singer-songwriter and producer born in Elvas came to Lisbon at age 12. Here he studied music and gave his first concerts in bars and clubs. Currently, with two albums already published, he is touring the country to present the latest “Metade e Meia”, but managed to find some time to tell us about his passion for Lisbon. In what he says is “the most beautiful city on the planet”, with “such a particular light and energy”, Luiz Caracol enjoys jogging from Belém to Cais do Sodré and stroll through Alfama, Graça, Bairro Alto, Castelo and Mouraria, neighborhoods that are, in his opinion, the ones that “best show the most genuine side of the city”.
