Nelson Rosado, Musician, Author and Composer

It’s an extremely beautiful town, safe and clean, bathed by a bay like no other in Portugal.

One of the ‘wings’ in the duet Anjos (Angels), a band presently celebrating twenty years of career, he was born in Lisbon 43 years ago, but confesses having been earlier on “adopted by the fantastic Seixal municipality”. And he lived here until he got married, having thus created a large part of his musical creations in this setting.

Living presently in the neighboring Sesimbra, Nelson Rosado assures us that the sunset over Seixal’s bay has no parallel anywhere else. He also states that “the tastes and colors” of this town are unique, and so is “the exemplary tradition concerning the promotion of cultural, sportive and amusement events”.

It was here that at age seven, he started studying music, as well as his career later on, along with his brother, as he has always done and hopes to continue doing.

With the family on the top of his priorities list, the musician picks the Seixal Urban Park for convivial opportunities. For the visitor, he recommends a boat ride up to the Corroios tide mill, aboard a local traditional vessel.

The best leisure / outdoor activities in Seixal:
We can always go out for a bicycle ride, either along the riverside, or in the parks or green areas offered throughout the municipality. On the bay, one can practice rowing and on windy days, windsurf and sailing. I recommend the sea rides on the traditional vessels, and profit from the occasion to watch the sunset aboard a sailing boat.
