SOFIA LOPES, SALES MANAGER

In Madeira we should make at least one of the several levada walks of the island, climb up to Pico Ruivo, the highest mountain in the archipelago, and try the traditional caco cake, the honey buns and some Madeira wine.

For 40 years she has lived in the “ideal holiday destination”, Madeira, “where the green of nature, the blue of sea water, a pleasant temperature and countless leisure activities all mix together”. Not surprisingly, Sofia Lopes’ career is related to tourism – she is sales manager at the Savoy Hotels & Resorts group in Madeira. Even though a native of Funchal city, she “sells” with equal enthusiasm all the boroughs of the island. “All eleven are so different from one another that it’s worth getting to know all of them. The island is small, it’s feasible to do it.” If this is not possible, she recommends to make at least one of the several levada walks of the island, to climb up to Pico Ruivo, the highest mountain in the archipelago, and to try the traditional caco cake, the honey buns and some Madeira wine.
