For the true lovers of the sea, this might by the most appealing experience – exploring the sea of Madeira aboard a small boat, just a few inches above the water and with a paddle in hand. Closer to the ocean or even more “immersive”, you could only get by diving into it. And since it deals with sea lovers every day of the year, VMT Madeira has decided, by the end of the Summer of 2023, to add to its vast offer of maritime tourist activities, this real “candy” – the guided kayak tours.

A one-of-a-kind experience

“Discovering the island’s natural beauty from a different perspective”, according to VMT Madeira. Since the kayak enables approaching the shallows, where the crystalline water presents the amazing seabed, and also the steep slopes, in a vertigo from the bottom up.

Throughout a 2-hour tour along the coast of Funchal, there is time for all this and so much more. There is also the challenge of sailing through the waves, either individually or in pairs, but always guided. Not to mention the contact with the breeze, the fragrances and even the splashes, meaning a feast for all senses.

In complete safety

Having as base a comfortable catamaran and always guided by expert instructors, the kayak tours are perfect for beginners and for experienced paddlers alike, being therefore a fun experience for the whole family. For this tour, VMT provides all the equipment for the practice of this activity, including life jacket, being the client responsible for bringing a t-shirt that may get wet, flip flops, hat, and sunscreen. With completed check-in 30 minutes before departures – at 9:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 2:30 p.m. or 4:45 p.m. – all you need to do is enjoy the ride!
